Memphis, TN - Orville Howard Williams, Jr. left this world on April 20, 2017. He was born on May 20, 1934 and was a lifelong Memphian. "Bubba" graduated from Tech High School and was a Golden Glove Flyweight Boxing Champion. He graduated the University of Memphis and served his country in the US Air Force. He was a member of Ellendale Baptist Church and a men's Bible study group. Bubba was preceded in death by his parents Orville Howard Williams, Imogene McGuire Williams, and a brother Col. David R. Williams USAF. Bubba leaves his wife Carolyn (Kakie) Williams, a daughter Laurie Samuels (Harry), a son Jeff Williams (Debbie) and four grandchildren. He also leaves two sisters, Jean Rose Raney and Margaret Kee all of Memphis. Funeral will be 1:15 p.m., Wednesday, April 26 at the West Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery, 4000 Forest Hill-Irene Road. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation of West Tennessee. (Published in The Commercial Appeal on Apr. 23, 2017)
