Glen Alan Pannell was born on June 20, 1952 to Clinton and Darlene (Hennings) Pannell in Portland, Oregon, where he lived his entire life. He attended Gregory Heights Elementary School, graduating from James Madison High School in 1970.

Glen always told the story that when he was home from high school, he saw this girl walk by, and he told his parents "that's the girl I'm going to marry!" That girl was Sandra "Sandy" Lee Herrell, who Glen began courting in July 1972 when they took a trip to Multnomah Falls. Thereafter, he joined the Army where he was honorably discharged in 1974. Glen was diagnosed with Type I diabetes in 1976, which he battled for over 40 years.

He married Sandy Lee (Herrell) on January 15, 1977. Their first born daughter Darcie Lee Pannell was welcomed on September 25, 1981 and then their second born daughter Deanna Lee Pannell was welcomed on June 5, 1983. His career was spent working for the United States Postal Service. Glen became a proud grandpa to precious Petra Mae in September 2015 and beautiful Kezia Rae in February 2017.

Glen is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Sandy Lee Pannell; daughters Darcie Lee Giese Thompson (Brian) and Deanna Lee Pannell (Michael Hurley); granddaughters Petra Mae Giese Thompson and Kezia Rae Giese Thompson; mother Darlene Pannell; brother James Pannell; sisters Pamela (Darwin) Johnson and Karen (David) Kuhn.

He was preceded in death by his father Clinton Pannell on April 20, 2012.

Glen enjoyed watching golf, playing golf and cribbage, camping and traveling, his dog Quincy and cat Boots. He will be remembered for his love of drinking coffee and snacking on popcorn and gummy bears.

A Military Memorial will be held privately.
