David Allen Bragg Sr., 69, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully April 19, 2017, surrounded by his loving family. He was known for his honorable service in the United States Marine Corps as an MP and M-60 machine gunner. His service included two tours in Vietnam where he was awarded several medals, commendations and two Purple Hearts. Following his military service, Dave lived several years in Maryland and served as both a Baltimore Police Officer and a Federal Police Officer. His devotion to military service led him to join several Veteran groups and organizations which included serving as Commander of the VFW Post 3660. An avid sport enthusiast, he was a die-hard Raiders, Orioles and Ohio State fan. He loved coaching and mentoring various age groups in softball and baseball. Dave is survived by his devoted wife Rachel, who never left his side to the very end, and nine children: Monica, Christina, Yolanda (Gene), Selina (Shawn), David II, Angie, Jackie, Nate (Tommy), and Missy (Mike); 20 grandchildren, one great grandchild, one sister Sandy (Jim), brothers, Bill and Robin (Beth) and several nieces and nephew. Burial will follow with Military Honors at Rose Hill Cemetery.
