Macon Haskins Coleman III, 85, husband of Joyce Henderson Coleman, of Staunton, died Friday, April 21, 2017, at his residence. He was born May 11, 1931, in Richmond, a son of the late Macon H. Coleman, Jr., and Margaret Christian Coleman.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Macon H. Coleman IV and Heidi Coleman of Elkton, Maryland; two nieces and their husbands, Margaret and Gary Moore of Texas, and Marie and Gene Snyder; a nephew, Frank and his wife, Renee Glass, of Louisiana; and a nephew-in-law, Rick Cullen.
He was preceded in death by five sisters, Drucilla DeAngelo, Katherine Martin, Caroline Coleman, Harriet Coleman, and Cornelia Glass; and a niece, Linda Cullen.
A private burial will be held at Hebron Presbyterian Church Cemetery. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 24, 2017 in Hebron Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Frank Wyche. The family will receive friends following the service in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Boy Scout Troop 122, c/o Hebron Presbyterian Church, 423 Hebron Road, Staunton, VA 24401.
