The Rev. Clemens Neuhaus was born in Steeleville, IL Oct 9, 1900, the son of Frederick and Clara (Thies) Neuhaus. He was united in Marriage with Ella Prange in Waldenburg, Arkansas on June 9, 1926.

He graduated from Concordia Seminary, Springfield, IL in June 1926. He was ordained at his first parish in August 1926 at Russellville, Arkansas in 1930, he accepted a call to Sudbury, Ontario where he organized tl John's congregation in 1932. In 1933 he moved to Pembroke, Ontario where he served the dual parishes of St. John's Pembroke and Christ, Petawawa. After 28 years he accepted the call to be pastor of St. Peter's congregation at Simcoe, Ontario. He served this congregation as pastor until his retirement due to ill health on January 31, 1972.

The Rev. Neuhaus played an active role in the Ontario District. He served as pastoral advisor and board member of the Laurential District Walther League from 1936-1949. He served a Visitor (Circuit Counsellor) for the Ottawa Circuit District, Board of Directors and on numerous commitees, Dept. of Missions, Stewardship and Publicity, Pension and Student Support. From 1948 until 1970 the Rev. Neuhaus was a Vice President of the Ontario District. In 1980, her was offered the position of Honorary Vice president.

Surviving are his wife, Ella, six sons, Fred, Van Nuys, CA, Joe, Atlanta, GA, Clemens, San Bernadino, CA, Tom, Berlin, Germany, George, Fr. Devens, MA, The Rev. Richard, Brooklyn, NY. There are also 17 grandchildren. Two daughters, Mrs. Luther (Mildred) Schwich, Pensacola, FL, Mrs. Gerald (Johanna) Speckhard, Valparaiso, ID. He also leaves one sister, Mrs. Albert (Leona) Meyer, Tuckahoe, NY and one close cousin, Mrs. J. Fred (Mildred Fiene) Crouch.
