Chris Hughes, age 47, of Augusta, Kentucky, died Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at his residence. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hughes. He was born in Maysville, Kentucky, on February 11, 1970. He was a self-employed carpenter, a member of the Carpenters Union Local 1650 and a member of Augusta Baptist Church, in Augusta.
In addition to his wife, Chris leaves behind: his mother, Linda Nickerson Yates; two sons, Christopher Hughes, of Augusta, and Chase Cooper, of Middletown, Kentucky; one daughter, Alexis Hughes, of Augusta; two step-daughters, Megan Fryman (Andrew), of Germantown, and Dana Garrett (Austin Bellew), of Maysville; two brothers, Tony Hughes, of Florida, and Ronald Paul Peed, Jr., of Virginia; two step-brothers, Anthony Peed, of Middletown, Ohio, and Kevin Yates, of Ludlow, Kentucky; four sisters, Rhonda Johnson, of Powersville, Charlotte Thomas, of Augusta, Gale Teegarden, of Germantown, and Kathy King (Jamie), of Germantown; one step-sister, Sandy Yates, of Ludlow; four grandchildren, Lily Hughes, Hunter Cooper, Aubrey Fryman and Branson Bellew; his step-father, Ronnie Peed; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by: one sister, Scherana Sherlock; and a step-father, Bobby Yates.
Funeral services will be held Monday, April 24, at 1:00 p.m. at the Metcalfe-Hennessey Funeral Home, in Augusta. Interment will follow in Brooksville Cemetery, in Brooksville, Kentucky. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 23, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the charity of one’s choice.
