Dean C. Porter, 82, of Westfield Township passed Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at Life Care Hospice in Wooster, OH.
He was born September 5, 1934 on his parents homestead in Westfield Twp., where he has resided his entire life. Dean graduated from Westfield High School in 1952 and married Susan Huff on October 2, 1966.
He was engaged in farming all of his life. He was a school bus driver for 20 years with Cloverleaf Local Schools, retiring in 2004.
Dean enjoyed attending auctions, especially Mt. Hope Auction and also valued his family and friends dearly. He dabbled in wood working and enjoyed capturing nature, sunsets, and weather by video and camera.
He is survived by his wife Susan,
2 Sons, Todd (Wendy) Porter of Seville
Mark (Shawna Wallon) Portor of Sterling
2 Grandchildren Arianna and Louis
1 Sister Jean Howman
He was preceded in death by his parents Ira and Edna (VanMeter) Porter.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 4, at 11:00 AM at Parker Funeral Home, 210 Medina Street, Lodi (330-948-1122).
Pastor Diane Bell will officiate.
Burial will follow at Westfield Center Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Life Care Hospice.
