She was born in Salem, SC to the late Wardie Davis and Ronie Hanna Poston. She was predeceased by her husband, Jackson Richard Abrams.
Alberta loved spending time working in her garden nurturing her day lilies and roses, always keeping her outdoor space well-manicured. She was the main chef in the Abrams' household and prepared homemade dishes that rivaled the best chefs in Columbia. Alberta was an immaculate house keeper and always kept the inside of her home as well manicured as she did her outside space.
Alberta loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren immensely and was always there for them when her health permitted. She deeply loved her church family and was so disappointed when she was not able to attend on a regular basis due to declining health.
Alberta's early married years were spent in Lake City, SC where her three children were born. The family moved to 204 Haynes Lane in Cayce, SC in August of 1967 where she resided until 2016 prior to moving to an assisted living facility. The family wishes to thank the nurses and caretakers at the Agape Hospice locations in Columbia and Lexington for their compassionate care. They were truly outstanding.
The family will receive friends at Broadacres Baptist Church in Cayce on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. at the church immediately following the visitation with Reverend William R. "Bill" Geddings, Jr and Reverend Anthony Poston officiating. Interment will be in Southland Memorial Gardens.
