Rebecca, “Becky” Lynne Monk, 57, of Rheatown, born June 29, 1959, passed away on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Holston Valley Medical Center.

She was a lifelong member of Rheatown U.M. Church.

Becky was a loving person who always looked for the best in everyone. She loved studying her Bible daily and attending church regularly.

She is survived by: mother: Pauline Monk; 1 brother and sister-in-law: David and Mary Ann Monk; 3 nieces: Paula Askew, Pamela (Mrs. John) Jones, April (Mrs. Daniel) Myers; 1 nephew: Andy Monk and wife Lynn; 5 great nieces: Kylee Askew, Gracie Monk, Mary and Annie Myers, and Bailey Jones; 5 great nephews: Kyler Jones who was like a son to her, Andrew and Luke Monk, Christian Askew, and Levi Myers; special friends: Tammie Street, Tenisha “Bunky” Collins, Kathy and Barbara Laws, Helen Davenport, Brenda Turner, Debbie Norton, Howell Bowers, and Helen Brown; special aunts and uncles: Elmer and Laura Daugherty, Jewell Dean, Roy and Barbara Mon, all of Greeneville, Lowell Daugherty, Bill and Helen Nuchols, and Jeanette Dean, all of California, Bobby and Wanda Hoyle of Kentucky; several special cousins.

She is preceded in death by: father: Charles Monk; grandparents: Rev. Joseph and Irene Daugherty, B.G. and Zella Monk.

The family will receive friends on Friday from 4-7 PM at Jeffers Funeral Service Downtown. The funeral service will follow the visitation in the chapel at 7 PM, with Pastor Dennis Milhorn officiating. A graveside service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM at Stone Dam Cemetery, with Pastor Glen Daugherty officiating.
