She was born in Schlewecke, Hanover, Germany. Daughter of Christian and Johanne Sophie Caroline Charlotte Patz Geldmacher. Married Diedrich Bruening April 18, 1869 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cape Girardeau, MO. Witnessed by Augusta Caroline Geldmacher and Friedrich Bruening.

OBIT Funeral Services for Mrs. Bruening to be held Sunday

The funeral of Mrs. Wilhelmine Bruening, 79 years old, who died at noon Thursday in a local hospital, will be held Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. A short service will be held at this hour at the home of her daugher, Mrs. Clay M. Lutz, 323 Themis street, after which services will be conducted at the Trinity Lutheran Church by Rev. F. H. Melzer. Interment will be in Fairmount Cemetery.

Mrs. Bruening's body will lie in state at the Brinkopf Funeral Home until Saturday afternoon, when it will be taken to the Lutz home.

Mrs. Bruening was born in Hanover, Germany in 1845(6). When she was 21 yers old, she came to this country alone and settled in Cape Girardeau. Shortly after she was married to Dietrich Bruening, a cooper. Mr. Bruening died about 40 years ago. Mrs. Bruening lived with her only son, Carl, at 29 North Frederick street. Besides her son and her daughter, Mrs. Lutz, there is another daughter, Minnie, who lives in St. Louis.(Another son Gustav died as an infant in 1880.)
