Published in The Sierra Vista Herald (April 21, 2017):

SIERRA VISTA - Glenda Ann Reynolds, 81, went home to Heaven on Sunday, April 2, 2017.

She lived in Sierra Vista with her daughter Lori Pitts (Jim) since 2014. Previous to that, she lived in Mount Holly, New Jersey, for more than 40 years.

Glenda was born in Ilion, New York, on July 13, 1935, to Glenn and Elsie Caulkins. She was the oldest child of five.

She married George Swanson in 1954, and they had three children together. George served in the U.S. Air Force, and they lived in Albuquerque, New Mexico; and Fairbanks, Alaska. They divorced amicably in 1966 and remained friends until George passed away in 2016.

She married Frederick Reynolds, Jr. on Oct. 27, 1966, in Mt. Holly, and they had two children together. They celebrated 40 years of marriage before Fred went home to Heaven in February 2007. While living in New Jersey she often volunteered raising funds for Deborah Heart and Lung Center. It was near and dear to her heart because her daughter Sherril received wonderful care there.

She is predeceased by her parents; brothers, Earl and Richard; her husband, Fred; and four of her five children: Perry Swanson in 1980, Sherril Swanson in 2001, Dean Swanson in 2004, and Lisa Mlynarski in 2007.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Pitts (Jim); five grandsons and one great-grandson: Ryan Swanson, Evan Swanson, Christopher Walters, and Konner Swanson all live in New Jersey; Daniel Pitts lives in Sierra Vista; and James Pitts IV is serving in the U.S. Navy, currently overseas. She is also survived by two sisters, Marsha O’Dell and Darlene Ferguson, both of Mohawk, New York; two cousins, Keith and Gary Caulkins, who live in New York; and her nieces and nephew.

Memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 23, at 1:00 p.m. at the Sierra Vista Church of the Nazarene at 1215 El Camino Real, with interment to be at a later date in Mount Holly, New Jersey.
