Donald Wayne Sims, 32, of Tenth Avenue Drive SE, died Jan. 14, 1996, at his residence after a period of declining health.
Born Aug. 22, 1963, in Catawba County, he was a son of Hazel Teague Johnson of Maiden and the late Stephen Wayne Sims.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Thomas A. Sims and Godfrey M. Teague.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, include a sister, Nancy Sims Armstrong of Maiden; his grandmothers, Mary Teague and Mary Sims of Newton; and a special friend, Robert Marlow of Hickory.
The funeral will be conducted by the Rev. Bill Mims at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Catawba Funeral Home.
Burial will be in Catawba Memorial Park.
