Reverend Dennis Campbell, Reverend Brett Golson, Reverend Lee Faler, and Mr. Steve Chain will officiate at the services with interment to follow in the Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Special music will be provided by Mrs. Annie Kay Rogers, Mrs. Donna Campbell, Mr. Jeremy Johnson, and Mr. Tommy Fairley. Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home in Collins will be in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2017 at the Billy M. King-Colonial Chapel Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at the Salem Baptist Church.
Pallbearers will be Mark Young, Marty Sanford, Cliff Kelly, Kenneth Yates, Jacky Miller, and Gwen Magee. Honorary pallbearers will be the members of Fellowship Sunday School Class of the Salem Baptist Church.
Mr. Chain was born on May 14, 1937 in Covington County, Mississippi. He retired as an operator for Chevron Oil Corporation after thirty three years of service. Mr. Chain proudly served his country in the National Guard. He was a member of the Salem Baptist Church where he was active in the Fellowship Sunday School Class. Mr. Chain was a member of the Okatoma Masonic Lodge, Post # 604.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott and Virgie Gillis Chain; one son, Gary Chain; and three brothers, Talmadge Chain, Ralph Chain, and Norman Chain.
Survivors include his wife of thirty two years, Doris Deen Chain of Collins; three sons, Steve Chain and his wife, Mary Lee of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Andy Chain and his wife, Belinda of Lehi, Utah, and Dr. Billy Mack Pickering and his wife, Julie of Hattiesburg; one daughter, Becky Pickering Faler and her husband, Mike of Collins; one brother, Edgar Ray Chain of Sumrall; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a host of other family members and friends.
