Kenneth was born on June 23, 1952 in Warrior Mines, West Virginia to Nellie Lee Powers (1932-2018). He was a 1970 graduate of Big Creek High School. After high school Kenneth served his county in the United States Air force. Kenneth was employed as a heavy equipment operator and crane operator he was also a skilled welder. He was preceded in death by his uncle Norman Dent Powers (Deceased) and a nephew Johnny Lee Powers II (Deceased).
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Nellie Lee Powers (1932-2018) of Warrior Mines, WV; two daughters Jessica Powers-Robinson of Collinsville, IL and Amanda Powers-Malter of Collinsville, IL; one brother, Johnny Powers of Berwind, WV; two nieces Sylvia Fernett of Fayetteville, WV and DeShara Christian of Amonate, VA; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild.
Graveside service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 10:30 am at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Bluewell, WV with Rev. Robbie Gaines officiating the service. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Mercer County Veterans Honor Guard. Burial will follow the graveside services.
