“Johnnie Roy” Morgan, 81, of McComb, MS., passed away on April 18, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loved ones.

Visitation will be Thursday, April 20, 2017 from 5 PM until 8 PM at the Navilla Baptist Church with visitation resuming Friday April 21st from 12 Noon until service at 1 PM at the church. Rev. Trent Bilbo and Deacon Glen Sharp will officiate and burial will be in the East Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Magnolia. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Johnnie Roy was born May 4, 1935 in Pike County, MS. He is the son of the late, John Wesley and Talitha Cothern Morgan.

Johnnie Roy was a retired Mechanic and was a supervisor for Croft Metals. He was a member of the Navilla Baptist Church serving as a deacon. He was a member of the Concordia Parish Water Works District #1 Board of Directors. He was a member of the Masons Concordia Parish Lodge #305 and a thirty third Degree Shriner. He was a loving husband, father, grand and great-grandfather who helped those in need. He was an outdoors man who enjoyed teaching his grandchildren fishing and how to string a trout line. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife of fifty six years and mother of his children, Alice Lucille Warner, one daughter, Alice Dianne Morgan, two sisters, Linda Jones and Thelma Hughes and one step-son, Mike Jackson.

He is survived by his wife, Willie Mae Hartley Conerly Morgan of McComb, one son, John Richard Morgan of El Dorado, AR; one daughter, Sheila Morgan Hillyard (John) of McComb; five grandchildren, Virginia Hillyard Carter (Jonathan) John Raymond “Trey” Hillyard (Cara); Alice Dianne Hillyard Preeo (Gage), Nicholas Seth Hillyard and Rachel Alexis Morgan; two step-grandchildren, Susan Dailey and Chris Jackson; seven great-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren and one step great-great grandchild with a special cousin, James Morgan (JoAnne) and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Billy Ray Webb, Jeff Warner, Jonathan Carter, James Morgan, Joe McKenzie and Gage Preeo.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Joshua Warner, Chris Jackson and Steve McKenzie.

Memorials may be made to the Shriner’s Hospital for Children at 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
