A memorial service has been scheduled for Tuesday, November 22, 2011 at 7:00 P.M. at Gospel Lighthouse Church in Powderly, Texas with Rev. Chris Kelley officiating.
She is survived by her husband, Mike; children, Shane England and wife Laurie, Kirk England and wife Shawna; grandchildren, Ty England, Blake Dority, Delaney England, Emma England, Zoe England and Luke England; brothers, Harvey Pate, Kim Sykes and Jeff Sykes; sister, Tonia Sykes; mother; Jean Sykes; numerous nieces, nephews, great-neices, great-nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Sykes; biological mother, Thelma Gardner; brother, Jim Sykes.
Jan loved her church, The Gospel Lighthouse and she loved all the people there. She loved to sing and praise the Lord with her favorite song ""I Pledge Allegiance To The Lamb"". She always had a smile on her face and always greeted you with a ""How are you doing?"" Her warm smile and contagious laugh will be missed by everyone who ever knew her.
After battling illness since 2007 she always said ""my last breath on Earth will be my first breath in Heaven.""
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the baptistry fund at The Gospel Lighthouse Church
Jan was interred on the bank of a lake on property she owned and loved.
