Virginia Ewing-Duncan, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away April 15, 2017. Virginia was born May 20, 1929 in Prince, WV, the daughter of Rev. Earl Ewing (1904-1965) and Bertha Carter-Ewing (1906-Deceased).

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Quinton Duncan (1919-Deceased) whom she married on September 21, 1957 in Danese, Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1957, Page 57, Application Date: September 16, 1957); parents, Rev. Earl Ewing (1904-1965) and Bertha Carter-Ewing (1906-Deceased); and siblings, Alfreda Ann Ewing (1933-2011), Teddy Marshall Ewing (1937-2009), and Eddy Ewing (1937-Deceased), as well as step-granddaughter, Cassandra Harrison (Deceased) and daughter-in-law, Margaret Ann Gunter-Duncan (1962-2017).

Left to treasure memories of Virginia are her daughter, Vicki Duncan-Curtis and husband, Tim Curtis; and son, Samuel Duncan. Siblings left to cherish her memory are Johnny Ewing & spouse Dorothy Ewing, Erma Maye Roseblock-Ewing-Patterson (B. 1932), Helen Ewing-Ames & spouse, Donald "Don" Ames, and Janie Ruth Ewing-Nadeau; sister-in-law, Gertrude Adkins; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Christopher Curtis and wife, Jeanette and great-granddaughter, Chloe; granddaughter, Beverly Weis and husband, Teddy, and great-grandchildren, MargaretAnne, Teddy, and MaddiLynn; granddaughter, Savannah Duncan, Angela Duncan and mother, Sarah Pugh; grandson, Sammy Duncan, Jr. and step-granddaughter, Belinda Weidensall; step-grandchildren, Aaron Weidensall, Gabriel and Ariana Kaylor and Montana Gardner, granddaughter, Becky Duncan and great-granddaughters, Jessica Dougherty, Kasey Dalton and grandson, Tyler Miller.

A celebration of life for Virginia will be held at 1:00 PM Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, Beckley with Virginia’s son, Pastor Samuel Duncan officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens.
