Maurine Ellen Hamilton Zemanek age 91, entered peacefully into her Savior’s arms on April 17, 2017 in Duncanville, TX. Maurine was born on the family farm in Austin, TX on January 6, 1926 to Charles and Pearl Hamilton. At a young age, she came to know the Lord and served Him with a steadfast grace all her days. Maurine married the love of her life, Dr. Joseph Zemanek on May 13, 1950. After the birth of their oldest daughter, Marsha Lynn, Maurine and Joe drove cross-country in an un-airconditioned car from Texas to UCLA while pregnant with their youngest daughter, Brenda Kay. It was a brave journey that spoke volumes of her commitment to her husband and love for her family. Maurine treasured each of her grandchildren, great-grandchildren (even her granddogs and great-granddogs) and could recall every detail of their lives. Not only will she be remembered for her unwavering support as a wife, her impeccable style and elegance, her enormous sweet tooth that never affected her waistline, and her love of big earrings; Maurine will be remembered for her unending love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Linda Bell, Caroline Rockmore and Janet Cooper who cared for Maurine with love and devotion these past few years. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Pearl Hamilton; brother, Charles (Richard) Hamilton Jr.; loving husband, Dr. Joseph Zemanek; & daughter, Marsha Lynn Zemanek Snow. Maurine is survived by her sisters, Melba Lauderdale of Villa Park, CA & Mildred Walston of Austin; her daughter, Brenda Kay Nunley and spouse, Mark, of Houston; her son-in-law, Ray Snow of Ft. Worth; & grandchildren, Matthew Snow and spouse, Jenny of Ft. Worth, Bonnie Snow Daman and spouse, John of Ft. Worth, Ashley Nunley Lillis and spouse, Chris of Houston, Courtney Nunley Coffman and spouse, Ben of Houston; 6 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews. Viewing will be 6-7 pm on Thursday, April 20, at Jaynes Memorial Chapel in Duncanville. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 am, Friday, April 21, also at Jaynes.
