LOS ANGELES (AP) _ Sgt. Milton Monzon''s parents wanted him to go to college and even offered to help pay for it. But the high school graduate had a different plan that would fulfill a childhood dream _ join the Army. His father was supportive. "It seems like we''re fighting for no reason," Milton Monzon Sr. said. "But as a father, my son made me proud. He made everyone proud because he was doing what he wanted to do." Milton Monzon Jr., of Los Angeles, was among four soldiers killed July 24 when an explosion went off near their armored vehicle in Baghdad. All four were assigned to the 3rd U.S. Armored Calvary Regiment based at Fort Carson, Colo. Monzon, 21, was deployed for a second tour in March, several months after he proposed to his wife Christy in front of his family at Christmas. She said yes and the couple eloped. His mother, Cecilia, was worried about her son serving a second tour. "I felt scared," she said. "I was afraid that when he went back, something would happen."
