Tom Whitmore, Love county, died at an Ardmore hospital Friday night after a two week's illness with his kidneys, according to a message received here by W.A. Whitmore, his only brother. The deceased was well and favorably known in this section of the country having lived at Overbrook for more than 45 years and being one of Love county's best known farmers and stockmen. Funeral services were held at Overbrook Sunday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock. Mr. Whitmore is survived by Mrs. Whitmore and seven children: Mrs. W.L. Owens, Harry and Milburn, Mrs. Robert Watkins and Miss Myrtle Whitmore of Ardmore and K.L. and Kerney of Overbrook, W.A. Whitmore, the brother, was too ill to attend the funeral. Alarge concourse of relatives and friends attended the funeral from Ringling, Healdton, and Ardmore.

Thomas N. Whitmore, Resident of Love County for Half Century Is Dead

Funeral services for Thomas N. Whitmore, 68, pioneer resident and stockman of Overbrook, will be held this afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Overbrook church. Interment will be in the cemetery there and Bettes funeral home is in charge of arrangements. Pall bearers are Joe Mitchell, W.D. Coe, Ordie Riner, Sam Pulliam, George Boland and Mave Pack. Mr. Whitmore, who had made his home in Overbrook for 50 years, died at an Ardmore hospital Saturday after an illness of two weeks. He is survived by his wife and seven children; Mrs. W.L. Owens, Ardmore, K.L. Whitmore, Overbrook, Harry Whitmore, Milburn Whitmore, Mrs. Robert Watkins, Miss Myrtle Whitmore, all of Ardmore; and Kerney Whitmore of Overbrook. He is also survived by a brother, Will Whitmore of Ringling. Mr. Whitmore was widely known among the pioneer residents of Southern Oklahoma.
