Services for Harry E. Whitmore, Overbrook, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday Oct. 8, 1980 in Bettes Chapel. Rev. Bill Bradley, First Christian Church, will officiate with interment in McAlester Cemetery, Overbrook. Born May 30, 1899 in Ardmore, I.T., Whitmore died Oct. 6 at his residence. A life-time resident of this area, he married Faye Cloar April 18, 1933, in Ardmore, and was employed by the Santa Fe Railroad from 1920 to 1933 as a bridge builder. He became a farmer following his retirement and was a member of the First Christian Church. Survivors include his wife, of the home; a son, Thomas Harry; Ardmore; two sisters, Lola Watkins and Myrtle Whitmore, Ardmore; and four grandchildren. The family will receive visitors Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Bearers will be Jack Ellis, John DeHart, W.C. Mitchell, Jr., Paul Morris, Albert Cullum and Jack Tow. Honorary bearers are R.H. Proux, Earl G. Howard, Othal Paschall, C.H. Sykora, Roosavelt Sweat and Odie Whitson. Bettes Funeral Home will direct services.
