Funeral services for Edna June Gillum were held Monday, Jan. 29, 2007, at the Faith Bible Church in Prague, Okla. Interment followed at the Prague Cemetery.
Edna June Gillum was born Feb. 9, 1912, in Roosevelt, Okla., to Carey and Bertie Adams. She passed away Thursday, Jan. 25, 2007, in Prague, Okla., at the age of 94.
Ms. Gillum had been a longtime resident of Prague. She and Frank Gillum, were married Feb. 3, 1938, in Frederick, Okla.; he later preceded her in death on Feb. 27, 1978. Ms. Gillum was a founding member of the Faith Bible Church of Prague and also taught Sunday school there. Several months ago the church had an addition named in her honor, Gillum Hall. She enjoyed canning and sewing.
Preceding her in death were her parents, Cary and Bertie Adams; her husband, Frank; two sisters, Helen Trentham and Lois Anderson; and one grandson, Robert C. Vinson III.
She is survived by one son, Robert Cleveland Vinson II, of Clovis, N.M.; three grandchildren, Debra Tanner of Okemah, Okla., Robin Forneris, of Prague, Okla. and Vicki St. John, of Midland, Texas; seven great-grandchildren, Billy Tanner, Brandy Riddle, Dereck Sheldon, Shannon Jauz, Blaine St. John, Bobby Cleveland Vinson IV and Adam Vinson; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
Serving as pallbearers will be James Hargrove, Jack VanBrunt, Dan Meyer, Billy Tanner, Blaine St. John and Keith Loutham.
Services were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home of Okemah, Okla. and officiated by the Rev. Scott Smith.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Faith Bible Church at P.O. Box 908, Prague, Oklahoma 74864.
