Doris Ann McKinney, age 62, of Spruce Pine, passed away on Tuesday, April 18th, 2017 at Rex Hospital in Raleigh. A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Robert and Carrie Davis Frye. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Tommy Frye. Doris Ann will always be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother.
Surviving is her daughters: Teresa Harris and husband, Todd, of Raleigh and Christy Webb and husband, Martin, also of Raleigh; son, Jamie McKinney of Spruce Pine; grandchildren: Casey Harris, Kaitlin McKinney and Brailey Webb; sisters: Shirley Boone and Irene Frye both of Crabtree and brothers: Ike Frye and wife, Jewel, of Seven Mile Ridge and Leon Frye of Crabtree. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 24th in Crabtree Chapel Baptist Church. Rev. Dallas Renfro will officiate. Private burial will follow in the church cemetery.
