Wendy was born October 8, 1957 to Ray Eldon Braswell and Jackie (McClellan) Braswell in Monahans, TX. She graduated from OHS class of '76. Wendy married Larry Hines on May 20, 1977 in Odessa, TX. She attended both Odessa College and UTPB. Wendy started with ECISD in August 1979 as a 2nd grade teacher at Goliad Elementary, moved to Cameron Elementary, 2nd grade, in 1983. She earned her Master's from UTPB in 1985. In 1987 she moved into an administrative role as a teacher appraiser. In 1990 she became program director for Zavala Magnet Elementary School, 1993 she became principal at San Jacinto Elementary. 1999 she became the principal at Cameron Elementary, and under her guidance Cameron was recognized as a Blue Ribbon School. 2004 she became executive director of elementary operations and in 2006 she became the assistant superintendent of elementary schools. 2017 she was awarded the Superintendent's Extra Mile Award. This was her 38 year with ECISD.
Wendy is preceded in death by her grandson, Christopher Cosby.
