Daughter of Ottewell Mayhew and Emma (Shelly) Mayhew of Calgary, passed away peacefully in her sleep April 27, at Dover House Care Facility, Nanaimo BC at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her husband Ross Hughson Abbott (1914-1996), Port Hope where they resided for 50 years and all of her siblings, Dorothy, Helen and Jim in Ontario. She is survived by daughters, Joan Tobin, Ontario, Mary Mark, Nanaimo, and son, Bruce Abbott, Australia. She was predeceased by her third daughter, Shelly Finlay (1951-2002). She leaves behind grandchildren, Josh and Alex Finlay, Ontario, Justin, Sean and James Mark, Nanaimo and great- grandchildren Chase, Peyton, Tayis, Ella and Samuel, Nanaimo. Marian will be remembered for her generosity, her commitment to education and her interest and dedication to the greater family. Her courage and the Mayhew-Shelly enduring strength will be missed. She worked many years for the transportation program of the Ontario Cancer Society driving and organizing patients' travel to Toronto. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Ontario Cancer Society
