Mrs Hobbs, 73, Dies Thursday
Mrs Elsie May Hobbs, 73, Kempton succumbed at 7:15 am Thursday in Tipton Hospital after an illness of several years. Services will be held at 2 pm Saturday from the Kempton Christian Church with Rev Jerry Nash officiating and burial will be in Bacon Cemetery. Friends may call anytime at the McMullan-Rude Funeral Home in Kempton or at the church one hour prior to service.
Mrs Hobbs was born in Clinton County Sept 20, 1890 daughter of Hiram and Martha (Wisehart) Halley. Her husband Orvin Hobbs preceded her in death in 1951. She was a member of the Kempton Christian Church and a charter member of the Kempton Eastern Star.
Survivors include three sons Hobart of Glendale California, Wayne of Highland Indiana, Max of Scottsburg Indiana; eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren. A sister Mrs Fred Jones of Kokomo also survives.
