In 1951, Donald enlisted in the U.S. Army and proudly and honorably served his country for two years during the Korean War. During that time, he met a young lady, Marilyn C. Sutton, whom he married on May 14, 1952. Following Donald's military service, he worked at Anaconda/BICC for 41 years until his retirement.
Donald was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He cared for his wife for many years when she was sick. She passed away on April 16, 2005. Donald liked going out to eat, especially to Richard's, MCL and IHOP. He was a hard worker and enjoyed tending to his yard and home to keep everything looking nice.
He is survived by his daughters, Rita Jane Cicio, Marion, and Peggy Sue Holloway, Marion; grandchildren, Jennifer, Lisa and Matthew; several great-grandchildren; brother, Kenny (Margaret) Holloway; sister, Christina Dodson; and several nieces, nephews and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Amy Cicio; brother, Joe; sisters, Violet, Doris and Colleen; and his cat, Fluffy.
Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, to handle arrangements.
Services to celebrate Donald's life to be on Saturday. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
