Wanda Mae Bowyer Rusmisel, 84, of Millboro, Virginia died Sunday, April 16, 2017 at Havenwood in Lexington, Virginia. She was born July 12, 1932 in Rockbridge County, the daughter of the late Earl Clarence Bowyer and Susie Anne Plogger Bowyer.

Wanda was employed for 34 years in the billing department of BARC, then worked for 10 years coding for Blue Cross Blue Shield. She was a member of the Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron, as well as Millboro Presbyterian Church. She was a loving mother and grandmother.

Wanda is survived by her children: Jeffery Rusmisel of Goshen, Alan Rusmisel of Birmingham, Alabama; grandchildren: Kyle Rusmisel and Rachell Steedman of San Francisco, California, Patrick Verheagen of Springfield, Illinois; great grandchild: Eli Steedman; sister: Janet Sprouse of Goshen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at Goshen Baptist Church with Pastor Scott Reese officiating. Interment will be in Goshen Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 - 7:30 p.m., Thursday, April 20, 2017 at Craigsville Funeral Home.
