Sarah Duncan Newsom, age 79, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 in Ocean Springs.
She was born in Kosciusko, MS on December 23, 1936 and was a longtime resident of Ocean Springs. She retired from Gautier Public Schools as a teacher.
She is preceded in death by her son, Charles A. Newsom; and parents, Lavelle and Louis Duncan.
She is survived by her husband, Charles L. Newsom, Jr; sons, Jason (Susan) C. Newsom and Scott Newsom; sisters, Cheryl Grubbs and Mary McCool; and brothers, Edward Duncan and Dennis Duncan.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Bethel Independent Methodist Church Cemetery in Kosciusko, MS. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
