Salem - Nancy Hunt, a Portland, Oregon native, was an Honors graduate of Jefferson High School (Portland) and received the D.A.R. Citizenship Award. She attended Wheaton College (Illinois) majoring in music, and later studied piano for 13 years with artist-teacher Lillian Pettibone. Her husband, Kenneth J. Hunt, died in 1979. Nancy was certified a Pianist-Teacher by the Music Teachers National Association and by the Oregon Music Teachers Association (OMTA) and was widely known around the state as an adjudicator and judge. She held many positions on the OMTA State Board including 4 years as State Secretary and 4 years (1988-1992) as Chairman of the State Certification Committee.

From 1970-1972, she served as President of the Salem Community Concert Association and was President of Salem District OMTA in 1961-1962 and 1982-1984, and of Eugene District OMTA in 1975-1977. Her hobbies, in addition to being a performance pianist, were landscaping, reading, and homemaking.

Surviving are 3 daughters: Susan E. Logan, Arizona; Rebecca H. Robinson, Ecuador; and Madeline Furniss, Payette, Idaho; 4 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, also one sister, Maria Rosamond, Scotland and brothers Fred, Charleston, SC. and Henry, Boise, ID.

No services will be held at deceased's request. Contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
