Norma J. (Burkett) Fellows passed away peacefully on March 30, 2017, at St. John’s Rimview Square in Billings, Montana. She was born on Feb. 28, 1923, to Alonzo and Nina (Armstrong) Burkett in Three Forks, Montana. Norma was raised in Trident and graduated from Three Forks High School. On May 27, 1946, Norma married Elbert “Bill” Fellows in Spokane, Washington. They resided in Spokane, Bozeman, Trident and Manhattan where they raised their three children. Norma enjoyed cooking and the family always looked forward to her fried chicken dinners and apple pies. She loved to play cards, especially pinochle. Norma retired from Manhattan State Bank in 1986.

With Norma’s sweet spirit, she was always kind-hearted and caring towards others. Often the family was told by the nursing staff at St. John’s Lutheran Home how Norma was such a kind and thankful person. Norma always had a smile and said thanks no matter how she was feeling.

Norma was preceded in death by her husband, Bill in 1993, her parents, her brothers Bill Burkett, Bob Burkett and sister Helen Baker. She is survived by her children, Dick (Linda) Fellows, Judi (Bill) Mickel and Will (Shanna) Fellows; her grandchildren, Brett (Monica) Fellows, Chris (Sue) Fellows, Travis (Rachael) Mickel, Shawna Mickel, Caleb (Eileen) Fellows and Josh (Laura) Fellows; her great-grandchildren, Sally Fellows, Libby Fellows, Caden Fellows, Ashley Fellows, Rebecca Mickel, Hannah Mickel, Ben Mickel, Cameron Steele, Shamecca Early, Ethan Fellows and Kaia Fellows. Norma is also survived by nephews and nieces, including a close nephew, Don (Sherry) Kennedy.

Funeral services will be at the Manhattan Bible Church at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 20. Interment will be at the Manhattan Meadow View Cemetery and a luncheon will follow at the Manhattan Presbyterian Church.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the amazing staff at St. John’s Rimview Square for the wonderful care they provided for Norma. The family suggests memorials be sent to St. John’s Lutheran Ministries Foundation, Employee Assistance Program.

Arrangements are in the care of Dokken-Nelson Funeral Service.
