Larry E. Horn, 79, of Taylorsville, passed away peacefully at home on Monday April 17, 2017, surrounded by his family.

He was born March 31, 1938, in Monongahela, Pennsylvania, the son of Eugene and Irene Ingram Horn. Larry served his country in the U.S. Navy and also the U.S. Air Force, retiring with over 21 years of service. He worked in several mines in Colorado and New Mexico, before moving to Utah, where he worked for Hertz Car Rental for a 25 years as tow truck driver, and Car Control.

He married Jane Spencer and they spent many wonderful years together. Larry loved camping, fishing, and loved to travel, and was also a die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers Fan. Larry loved funny T-shirts and always had a new joke to tell.

Larry is survived by his sweetheart, Jane Horn; and five children: Tammy(Alex)Perez, Larry Horn (Medes), Richard(Bonnie), Jennifer (Jerod) Thompson, Maggie (Mark)Stauffer, and 12 Grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren, and Brother; Robert Horn.

He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter Kelli Hartog.

The family would like to thank the staff at Aspen Ridge Hospice & Rehabilitation, and the doctors and nursing staff at Hunstman Cancer Institute for their care and support over the past three years.

A visitation will be held Thursday April 20, 2017, at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Rd., (10600 South), Sandy, Utah, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

Graveside services with military honors will follow at 12:00 noon, also at Larkin Sunset Gardens Cemetery
