FUNERAL WEDNESDAY
Following an illness of one year during the last portion of which she had been failing rapidly, Mrs ELIZA SUSAN DICK wife of Joseph Dick died at her home on the Tipton-Clinton County line Monday morning at 7:45 death being due to tuberculosis.
Mrs Dick was one of the splendid women of her community a devout member of the Mt Zion Methodist Church with which she united when a girl and a woman loved by all who knew her.
Funeral services will be held at the Kempton Methodist Church Wednesday morning at 10 o'clock with Rev KB Maynard in charge and burial will follow in the Bacon Cemetery.
Mrs Dick was a daughter of Henry B and Rosa A (Kesler) Dick and was born in Greene County KY April 2, 1855 coming to Tipton County when a young woman. She was twice married, her first husband dying a number of years ago and six years ago she was remarried to Joseph Dick who survives.
She is also survived by two children by the first marriage Charles Amos Thompson of Detroit and David Francis Thompson at home. One grandson also survives and there are four stepchildren, Mrs Frank Cline of Kempton, Mrs Robert Ricketts of Pickard, Prof Otto Dick principal of the Kempton schools and Mrs Otto Pumphrey of Detroit. Mrs Dick is also survived by one brother Lon Kesler of Indianapolis.
A sister Mrs Lula Croy has been deceased for a number of years.
The death of this fine type of womanhood was a shock to those who have known and loved her. The body will lie in state at the home northwest of Kempton on the Tipton-Clinton County line until the hour of the funeral and friends who desire may call.
