Carolyn Jean Harborth Dykes, 72, passed away April 16, 2017, in Brenham. Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 18, at Memorial Oaks Chapel. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m., Wednesday, April 19, 2017, at Oak Rest Cemetery, with Brent Hampton and Ed Triem officiating. Following the graveside service, a reception will be held at the Brenham Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.

Carolyn was born in New Braunfels, Texas, to the late Hilmer Arthur and Eldrieda Dora (Kraft) Harborth. She was baptized on February 26, 1950. On August 22, 1964, she was married to Daniel Dykes. Carolyn was an elementary school teacher and a member of Brenham Presbyterian Church.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Janice Lynn Hinds.

Survivors include her husband, Daniel Dykes, of Brenham; sons, Charles Rand Dykes, of Austin, and Kevin Lee Dykes and Anja Rusche, of Berlin, Germany; grandchildren, Tilda Rusche and Lola Rusche; sister, Glenda Joseph and husband, Jerry, of Bryan; other relatives and many friends. L5
