A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 for Ashley Rochelle Doucet Boyd at St. Landry Catholic Church in Opelousas. The Reverend Monsignor Keith DeRouen will officiate the Mass. Rite of Committal will take place at Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery.

Ashley Doucet Boyd, age 33 and a resident of Opelousas, passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 at her residence.

Ashley was a 2002 graduate of Westminster Christian Academy where she enjoyed being on the basketball and volleyball teams. She was a member of American Heart Walk Association. She loved hanging out with her Boyd boys and her many friends. Ashley also loved crawfishing in the ponds around Palmetto. She enjoyed working in her garden tending to her beautiful flowers and plants. Ashley also loved coaching soccer and tee ball teams.

Ashley had many accomplishments in her life. In 2011, she went to Haiti on a mission trip to help aid in disaster relief efforts. Ashley was a former Farm Bureau Queen of St. Landry Parish, and as contestant ''Number 19'' she earned the title of Miss Congeniality.

Ashley is survived by her husband, Jonathan A. Boyd; her parents, Joey and Bridget Doucet; her step-sons, Landon M. Boyd, Emmett J. Boyd; her brothers, Byron C. Doucet, Jordan L. Doucet and wife, Olivia; her in-laws, William and Pat Boyd; her grandparents, Mrs. Belle Doucet, Mrs. Roma Chachere; her brother-in-law, Justin Boyd and wife, Kim; sister-in-law, Lauryn Bulliard and husband, Jeff and her nieces and nephews. Ashley will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Randolph McCormick and Mary Vivia McCormick; her paternal grandfather, J.B. Doucet, Jr and her grandfather-in-law, Gerald L. Chachere, Sr.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and will reopen on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at 8:00 a.m. until time of service. A rosary will be prayed at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

Pallbearers will be Byron Doucet, Jordan Doucet, Justin Boyd, Jeff Bulliard, Jared Meche and Damien McCormick.

Donations may be made in Ashley's name to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, P.O. Box 4527, New York, NY 10163.
