Jared Peterson
October 18, 1975 ~ April 14, 2017

Jared K. Peterson (Whitey) age 41, passed away peacefully the evening April 14, 2017 surrounded by family and friends at Community Hospital in Grand Junction, CO. Due to health problems.

He was born October 19, 1975 in Vernal, Utah to Keith and Verna Richens Peterson.

He was the oldest child and had two brothers he grew up and lived most of his life in Vernal and Jensen.

When Jared was born he got the name whitey because of his white hair. As he got older he was called white man and the great white.

Jared had an awesome personality, with the most awesomest spirit and character that would light up your heart and brighten up your day with his laugh and smile. His eyes were a beautiful baby blue.

He found the best in everyone family and friends. He loved life and had a free spirit.

He touched this world in so many ways and one of them was creativity and design. Appreciating life where ever he was, creating, sculpting, from this world. Either trying to change the river by making new streams, or making rock formations where he was. Building, designing and using what he had around him, making things out of sticks, wood, branches, and logs. The love he had for this world was priceless.

He grew up on the Green River becoming a River Rat with his whole family, you name it he did it. Hunting, fishing, camping, boating, sports, gardening, yard work, hard work, cooking and ect.

He loved games, whether it was tag, kick the can, phase 15, dice 10,000, Yahtzee, darts, T.V. games shows of all kinds and many more. He loved music, singing and dancing. He loved taking a risk at gambling, whether it was a scratch ticket, lotto, power ball, cash 5, or pulling the handle on the slot machines.

He loved his little dogs and raised them as his kids. He showed his love every day to his family and friends. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. We LOVE YOU WHITEY.

Jared was welcomed home with open arms by his grandparents Blake and Ila Peterson, Melvin and Jean Richens, Marvin, Leon, Floyd, Sharon and Donna Richens and cousin Leona Richens.

He is survived by his parents Keith and Verna Peterson; Brothers: Rhett (Chauntae) Peterson and Clint Peterson; Niece: Taylor Peterson; Nephews: Haegen and Bryce Peterson; Uncle: Arlen (Susan) Peterson; Aunts: Lana (Ron) Walker, Marie (Rick) Spurlock, Beverly Richens, Alice Richens, Vickie (Jim) Chadwick; Cousins: Travis, Nik, Lisa, JJ, Kisha, Chasetin, Alfred, Michelle, Ray, Jackie, Ryan, Andrea, Robin, Jax, Sophie, Dusty, Trevor, Kingston, Kaylee, Ivorie, Hod, Micah, Rick, Ricky, Shelly, Junior, Karine, Donnie, Troy, Deb, Treisa, Nathan, Chett, Cole, Kayli, Cameron, Kandalyn, Nicole, Jordan, Brooklyn, Mia, Denim, Dason, Tielee, Dustin, Makalah, Makynzey, Lennon, Parker, Kairi, Extended family and many-many friends.
