Graveside services for Billy Ray Harper age 83 will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the ‘Little Chapel by the Lake’ in Colonial Gardens Cemetery in Marshall, TX. Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, at Sullivan Funeral Home.

Mr. Harper passed away on Saturday, April 15, 2017 surrounded by his family. He was born on July 21, 1933 in Pine Bluff, AR to Veronica and Ray Harper.

Billy graduated from Marshall High School. He served his country in the National Guard and was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge in Marshall. Billy retired after 33 years of faithful service for the Texas Department of Transportation. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening but most of all he was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.

Mr. Harper was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Mamie Riley Harper, four daughters, Theresa Harper, Karen Maguire and husband Raymond, Sheila Rhyne, and Sheri Noland and husband Doug; son, Randy Roberts and wife Shaunda; grandchildren, Ashley Davison and husband “Bulldawg”, Clayton Paxton, Wesley Carlton and wife Mandy, Lauren Ricossa, Rikki Harris, Sara Roberts, Dusty Nolan and wife Angel, Waylon Nolan, Jennifer Lampkin and husband Brad and Matt Maguire and wife Whitney; great grandchildren, Dalton, Tristan, Caleb, Delaney, Blake, Eli, Jet, Emma and Barrett.
