Margaret Hoover Gehres "Marg", 97, joined her Heavenly Father on March 29, 2017, under hospice care at Sun City Center, Florida.
Marg was born June 23, 1919, in Van Wert County, Ohio, daughter of Russel M. and Helen Kreischer Hoover. She married Floyd Gehres on Aug 27, 1939. He preceded her in death having been married 73 years.
She was also preceded in death by her two brothers, Dale and Donald Hoover, daughter-in-law, Laurie Gehres, and son-in-law, John Berry.
Marg was a homemaker all her life enjoying her family, gardening, traveling with Floyd and playing cards. Her religious beliefs sustained her many times during her life. Her family will miss her inspirational prayers at family gatherings.
Marg began her education at Glen School, Harrison Township, Van Wert County, Ohio. She transferred in the third grade to Convoy when the schools were consolidated. She graduated from Tully Convoy High School, and was the 1937 Peony Queen representative.
Marg is survived by her four children, Janice (Tom) Dillon of Charlotte, North Carolina, Linda Berry of Sun City, Florida, Loran Gehres of Ruskin, Florida, and Phil Gehres of St. Petersburg, Florida; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, and nieces and a nephew.
Memorial services will be held at a later date.
