Mrs. Effie Burrier

Mrs. Effie Mina Burrier, 81, formerly of Gratiot, died Tuesday (April 8) at Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. after a long illness.

She was born Jan. 22, 1888 at Brownsville, a daughter of Robert and Emma Cooperrider Barnes.

She married Grover C. Burrier in 1912 who died in 1965. She spent her entire life in Brownsville and Gratiot, moving to Florida two years ago.

She was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church at Glenford and the Gratiot Ruth Circle.

Surviving are a son, Weldon of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; a sister, Mrs. Gertrude Norman of Newark and three nieces. Two brothers, Delbert and Ray Barnes, are also deceased.

Friends may call 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at William Thompson and Son Funeral Home at White Cottage where services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Richard Finley officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Forks Cemetery at Gratiot.
