Mrs. Torchie May Bishop, known as "Bubbles", wife of Robert James Bishop, of Saxis, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2014 at her residence.

Born on December 22, 1943, in Saxis, VA, she passed peacefully in the same home where she was born. She was better known as "Bubbles", a name given to her as her CB name many years ago. She enjoyed singing hymns and listening to the word of God. She could often be heard humming the words of "I'll Fly Away". Her favorite pastime was coloring and her greatest joy, without a doubt, was her family and friends.

She was predeceased by her father, Orie Marshall and mother, Cleora Marshall.

She is survived by her husband, Robert James Bishop of Saxis; daughter Karen Bishop; son, David Bishop and his wife Alisa; Granddaughters, Shelby Bishop and Alysen Bozman and her husband, Roland; great-granddaughter, Paityn Bozman and a soon to be great-grandson.

A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, October 26th at 2:30 PM from the Thornton Funeral Home in Parksley with Rev. Bob Daniels, Rev. Jonathan Carpenter and Pastor Freddie Ward officiating.

Interment will follow in the Liberty Cemetery in Parksley.
The family will receive friends from 2:00-2:30 at the funeral home.
