Ernest E. Brummel (Ernie), 91, Branson West, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Cox Medical Center, Branson. His memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 3, 2016 at Stumpff Funeral Home, Kimberling City, MO.

Ernie was born September 10, 1924 in Leighton, IA, son of Walter and Johanna Brummel. He married Annetta Joyce Shaffer on October 15, 1944. She preceded him in death in 2001. Ernie’s parents, six brothers, and a great grandson (Sterling A. Sallade) also preceded him in death.

He is survived by his three children; Jannis Oglesby (Collis Mayer), Connie Wilson (Albert), Monty Brummel (Dana); ten grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; twelve great, great grandchildren and one sister, Joan Van Hal.

Ernie retired from Church Mutual Insurance CO in 1990 as a senior vice president, after thirty years of service. He was an avid gardener, golfer and enjoyed spending time with his family and entertaining them with stories from the past. Ernie was a member of the First Christian Church in Kimberling City, MO.
