Gayland Gene Lively

Gayland Gene Lively, 68, of Seguin, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2017. He was born August 19, 1948 in Houston, Texas.
He is preceded in death by parents Charles Aubrey Lively and Nell Pauline Roberts Lively.
He is survived by wife Wanda Ruth Patterson Lively, daughter Erin Renee Lively Kaiser — husband Mark Allen Kaiser, and son Jason Clint Lively — wife Colleen Delia Flowers Lively. Grandchildren Katie Kaiser, Allen Kaiser, Claire Kaiser, Carter Lively, and Emmett Lively. Sisters Linda Canion and Rosemary Pierson and brother Charles Wayne Lively.
Gayland has donated his body to anatomical study at a medical research University. There will be a private celebration with family and friends some time in the future.
Gayland attended Roosevelt Elementary, Hogg Junior High School and Jefferson Davis High School in Houston, Texas. Got his diploma with the class of 1967. During this time he was a Cub Scout, Boy Scout and a Demolay.
He joined the Air Force in April 29, 1969. After spending the first year in training In Avionics at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi, he spent the next 30 months in South East Asia, 15 months at Ching Chuan Kang Air Base Republic of China Air Force in Tiawan and 15 months at Korat Royal Thai AFB Thailand. While at CCK he went TOY to U-Tapal Airfield Thailand. He was honorably discharged November 8, 1972 as a E-4 sergeant.
During his time as a Demolay, he became a Master Counselor. On his leave, before going over seas, he was presented with the DeMolay Degree of Chevalier. Being chosen as a DeMolay was a great honor.
After he finished his service in the Air Force, he spent a year with Gulf States Utilities working in the meter shop.
He attended Sam Houston State University. He finished with a BS in Physics. While at Sam Houston he met and married his true love, Wanda. They were married for 41 years.
Gayland had jobs in Laredo, Houston, Round Rock and Seguin, Texas. In 1983 he moved with his family to Seguin, Texas. He retired after spending 29 years working first in the CMC Maintenance Department. He finished in the CMC Engineering Department.
