Richard Kent Albertson Norfolk - Richard Kent Albertson, 59, of Norfolk, died April 6, 2015 in a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of Norfolk. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Betty Albertson, and his sister, Betty Kent Albertson. Richard graduated from Granby High School in 1973, and played on the football team and wrestling team. He attended Tidewater Community College. He loved sailing and was happiest when he was sailing on the bay with family and friends. Richard had a beautiful smile and a kind word for everyone and a heart as pure as heaven. He will be dearly loved and deeply missed forever. Left to cherish his memory are his sister, Sherry Albertson of Norfolk, brother, Bill Albertson of Virginia Beach, and niece, Taylor Albertson of Abingdon, MD, along with his cousins, aunt and dear family friends. Funeral services will be officiated by Rev. Leigh Beasley Gillis of Goldsboro, NC and will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
