Crystal Dawn Hensley Porter, 34, of Nebo, went to be with the Lord, Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, while at Memorial Mission Hospital.
Born Jan. 26, 1973 in McDowell County, she was a daughter of John Mills Hensley and wife, Cheryl, of Marion and Shirley Lawing Hensley of Nebo.
Crystal was a member of the Harmony Grove Baptist Church and an avid fan of pro-wrestling.
In addition to her parents and stepmother, she is also survived by her son, Jeffery Porter Jr. of Hickory; a brother, John M. Hensley Jr. and wife, Tish, of Nebo; a stepbrother, Dwayne Morgan and wife, Sandy, of Marion; a niece, Cassidy Hensley of Nebo; two nephews, Blake and Cade Hensley, both of Nebo. Also surviving Crystal are several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. Porter will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 7, 2007, at the Harmony Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Freddie Williams and Doug McPeters officiating.
Interment will follow at the Harmony Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. today, Feb. 6, 2007, at Kirksey Funeral Home, Marion. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to a scholarship fund for her son, Jeffery Porter Jr. at the First Citizens Bank, Marion. Condolences may be made on-line at www.kirkseyfuneralhome.com.
