Luke was a 1966 graduate of Warren High School. He was a Vietnam veteran, serving in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant. Luke retired from RJF International after 43 years of employment. He was a member of the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, enjoyed gardening and nature watching, and loved any activity with his grandchildren. Luke also enjoyed traveling, family activities and the holidays.
He is survived by his wife, Diane R. Macenko Arnold, whom he married on May 13, 1972; daughter, Angie Sahlbom (John) of Bellbrook, Ohio; son, Mike Arnold (Amy) of Parkersburg, WV; grandchildren, Josh and Maggie Sahlbom and Kent and Drew Arnold; siblings, Suzie Fleming (Ralph), Ken Arnold (Evelyn), Marty Sabic (Ken), Becky Cox (Tom), Tim Arnold (Kathie), Matt Arnold (Barb) and Diane Leber (Bud); and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Jane Arnold; and sister, Pamela.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the Basilica of St. Mary of the Assumption, with The Rev. Msgr. John Michael Campbell celebrating. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park, with full military honors. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Marietta Chapel of Cawley & Peoples Funeral Home, with a Vigil service being held at 3:00 p.m. that day.
