Darrell J. Stephens, age 58 of Rootstown, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, due to long term prostate cancer. He had battled this disease like no other, until he lost his fight when it invaded his liver.
Darrell was born June 24, 1958, in Ravenna, Ohio, to parents James and Billie Stephens. He was a much loved, strong man, and beloved husband and father. Darrell was very passionate about his work, family, and friends! He was always there for so many, and would help anyone who needed it. He will be missed and a hole has been placed in so many hearts.
Darrell was preceded in death by his parents. He leaves behind his wife Staci Stephens and his step-son Thayne Ocel, his sister Valerie (John) Kotlar, and brother Dwight Stephens. Darrell's memory will also be cherished by his mother and father-in-law Deb and Ron Harkless, sister and brother-in-law Kris and Ron Coia, his nieces Chloe Mollica and Jenni Kotlar, his nephews Josh (Sarah) Kotlar and Derric (Lauren) Kotlar, along with his beloved dog Harley, and so many dear friends.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, April 19, 2017, from 2:00 4:00 PM and 6:00 8:00 PM at the Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E. Main St., Ravenna. His funeral service will be officiated by Pastor Mark Miller at the funeral home on Thursday at 11:00 AM. Interment will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
