Mr. Bobby Bowen, age 72, passed away Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia. The Geneva, FL native had lived in Collins most of his life. He was a retired iron worker with membership with three unions. Bobby served in the US Army and was a member of The American Legion Post 0097 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3563. He was also a member of the Lyons Lodge #49, the Scottish Rite, and the Elks Club. Bobby was a member and former Deacon of Pine Grove Baptist Church. He also attended Cowboy Church in Darien and the Crescent Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 51yrs, Dorothy L. Bowen; children, Carol Jean McCarty, Norma Jean Hamm, and David Alan Bowen; Siblings, James Bowen, Alice Bowen Jacobson, and Charlie Clem Bowen.

He is survived by his companion, Sherri Kelley of Collins; children, Jamie Bowen of Reidsville, Jesse Bowen of CO, Robert Bowen of Mt. Vernon, and Lisa Ann Douglas of Macon; siblings, Bo Bowen of AL, Ruby Bowen Davis of FL, Betty Mae Bowen Martin of LA, Donnie Ray Bowen of IN, Mary Bowen Scott of FL, Katie Bowen Behrens of Alaska, Anita Bowen Faircloth of Collins, Michael Anthony Bowen and Vincent Edward Bowen both of FL, six grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends beginning at 6:00pm on Friday from the funeral home. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00pm Saturday, March 14, 2015 from the Chapel of Bradley B. Anderson Funeral Home & Crematory with the Reverends Jim Rogers, Bob Briley and Bill Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Collins Baptist Church Cemetery with masonic rites.
