Neola was born on June 4, 1927 in Prairie City, IA to Earl and Eleanor (Morgan) Owens. On April 7, 1948 she was united in marriage to Richard Sukkel. They farmed in the Reasnor and Newton area for 50 years before retiring to Monroe in 1997. Neola was a lifelong homemaker, who cherished and enjoyed her family. She was a long time member of the Monroe United Methodist Church and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Those left to honor her memory include her daughter, Marlys Kay DeVries of Pleasant Hill; her son, Mark Sukkel and Connie Clark of Monroe; three grandchildren, Valerie DeVries, Vance DeVries, and Veronica (Jeff) Wares; and three great-grandchildren, Jacob and Jordan Wares and Blake DeVries. She was proceeded in death by her parents and in husband, Richard in 2003.
