Hudson, George H. Joined his daughters Joan and Linda on Wednesday, August 31, 2016, age 95. George's family includes Lila, his wife of 69 years, 10 Children; Greg Hudson, Larry (Chris) Hudson, George Jr. "Bim" (Robin) Hudson, Lori (John) Wojner, Don (Marie) Hudson, Jeff (Tammy) Hudson, Mary (Gary) Steinmueller, Tom (Heather) Hudson, the late Joan (the late Dan) Herro and the late Linda (the late Scott) Conner; Adopoted son; Jerry Malone; 24 grandchildren; Dan, Mary, Corey, Cody, Casey, Joe, Roshelle, Josh, Garrett, Scott, David, Steven, Christopher, Michael, Heather, Sarah, Neil, Adam, Samantha, JoJo, Melissa, Mitchell, Jake and Vincent; 18 great-grandchildren; Austin, Ashley, Josh, Nicole, Skyler, Jaden, Chase, Reyna, Birdie, Georgia, Kaya, Ember, Noah, Taylor, Michael, Elias, Lincoln, George and 1 great-great-grandchild; Preston. George is a World War II U.S. Army veteran who served as Corporal in the ship's Complement Detachment Medical Section, NAB. He earned the Meritorious Unit Award, American Theater Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, European-African-Middle Eastern Theater Service Medal and Victory Medal WWII. Prior to joining the Army, George was a member of 1608th Company, Civilian Conservation Corps, out of Tomahawk, Wisconsin. After the war, he served as Sergeant First Class in Company C, 132nd Tank Battalion of the National Guard of Wisconsin. George also became a very active member of the Tomahawk American Legion Post 93, where he served as commander, chaplain and recruiter-and lent a hand wherever and whenever he was needed, from bartending to remodeling projects to cleanup crew and more. To this day, Tomahawk Post 93 awards the George Hudson Award-he was its first recipient-in recognition of outstanding service. George transferred his American Legion membership to Post 96 in Delafield when he and Lila moved to Delafield to be closer to family. Originally from Tomahawk, he spent more than 30 years in the Milwaukee area working to support his family and moved back to Tomahawk in retirement. In 2011, George was one of the Milwaukee-area veterans who traveled on an Honor Flight to view the WWII Memorial in Washington, DC. It was a day packed with memories he and is daughter Mary who accompanied him will never forget. Visitation will be held Friday, September 9, 2016 from 3 PM until the time of service at 6 PM at CHURCH AND CHAPEL FUNERAL HOME.
