Shawn Lee Young, age 32, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 10, 2017, as the result of an automobile accident. He was born on August 17, 1984. Shawn was a 2002 graduate of Shiocton High School. He formerly worked for Highway Landscapers Inc. and was currently working for Daanen & Janssen Materials in De Pere. Shawn loved working on cars and showing off while doing his signature donuts. He was a member of the Stephensville Street Rods, enjoyed attending car swap meets and spending time at Shawano Speedway in the pits. He was a devoted father who loved sharing his passion of cars with Blake.He is survived by his son Blake Young; father Darwin Young; mother Diana (Wayne) Van Straten; siblings Vanessa Young and Jackson Van Straten; niece, Rose Young; significant other, Sammi Suprise and her daughter, Kailee Suprise; maternal grandparents, Robert (Rosie) Weiland; and God-parents, Christine (Richard) Lautenschlager. He is further survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and many friends.Shawn was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Abraham (Ester) Young and step-grandparents, Gerald (Arlene) Van Straten.Mass of Christian Burial for Shawn will be held on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Edwards Church, Mackville with Fr. Walter Stumpf officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 17th from 4-8 p.m. at the Borchardt Moder Funeral Home, Shiocton and also at the church on Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in the St. Denis Catholic Cemetery, Town of Bovina.
